Doug Cota, Executive Director explains CycleOntario’s mandate: Cycle Ontario is an online portal dedicated to promoting cycling in all of its forms in Ontario.
We make available information on cycling opportunities: we provide cycling maps, both on and off road – creating those that are not available, we provide information on cycling friendly places to stay, to eat, to shop, to get your bike serviced, anything that will help make cycling easier to integrate into your everyday lifestyle and to help with planning your next cycling outing, whether it be a day trip or a week long tour.
Cycle Ontario is a social media driven site – it allows connection to all of the popular social media platforms; Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin etc. Cycle Ontario creates communities within itself for members to interact with each other, to share their cycling experiences, to arrange rides, to promote their events, to tell stories about cycling in their community and in doing so create a strong cycling culture in Ontario.
Cycle Ontario has the support of several important partners - Ontario Tourism through their Welcome Cyclists web site, International Mountain Bicycling Association and Ontario Trails Council – add to that the support of the individual Tourism Regions in Ontario and we are on track to provide a province wide data base of cycling activities, attractions and cycling friendly businesses.
We welcome and encourage everyone to tell us and the world of their best ever cycling experience, favourite cycling routes or places to visit. Cycling tourism is strong and growing within Ontario and with the help of cyclists we can make it better.
To inspire cyclists of all ages to explore the landscapes and history of Ontario for fun, fitness and self discovery.
More information about Cycle Ontario coming soon.
We have just rebuilt our site from the ground up to better serve our visitors, cyclo tourists and our valued sponsors. We are busy adding a wide selection of cycling content and links as quickly as possible.
Je vous rappelle que depuis peu (?), Via Rail dessert Ottawa et les cyclistes.
