Comparing Notes with New York: A Conversation with Kim Wiley-Schwartz
Kim Wiley-Schwartz has been working to make under-served communities better and safer in New York City for nearly 25 years. The former director of the unique Streets Education (www.streetseducation.org) program, she is currently Assistant Commissioner for Education & Outreach with the NYC Department of Transportation where she oversees a team of 30 people working with 500 schools, senior centres and community organizations to help make NYC’s streets safer than they have been in over a century.
